National High School Center Convenes Advisory BoardOn January 28, 2008, the National High School Center’s Advisory Board met in Washington, DC for its annual meeting. The Advisory Board meeting brought together senior leaders from national educational organizations and state representatives focusing on high school improvement across the nation. An area of discussion focused around Response to Intervention (RTI) and how it is defined in terms of serving general education and special education students. The National High School Center's publication, Meeting the Needs of Significantly Struggling Learners in High School: A Look at Approaches to Tiered Intervention, served as a framework to guide the conversation, and provided insight on what RTI looks like at the high school level. Upcoming ConferencesThe National High School Center wants to keep you informed of upcoming conferences and events pertinent to your work. The High School Events Calendar on our Web site lists national conferences, workshops, and dialogues sponsored by organizations around the country focused on high school improvement. If you are sponsoring a high school-related event, we encourage you to submit the event for posting on the Calendar through the online form on our Web site.
